Here is a breakdown of how students are placed into the correct AG classes.
* If your child is identified as a strong in both reading and math, they would have all four AG core classes (Science, Social Studies, Math and Language Arts).
* If your child is identified as a strong in one area (ex. Math) but moderate in the second area (ex. Language Arts): your child would go to AG math classes and AG Reading classes. They will go to a cluster Science and Social Studies class. Cluster classes are where a group of AG students are in the same class with some regular students. (Typically about half and half) These students would ideally be given more challenging activities and assignments to meet their individual needs when deemed necessary.
* If your child is identified in one area ONLY (ex. Math) then they would go to the Math AG class, and the other three core classes (Language Arts, Science and Social Studies) would be cluster classes.
